UBS Recruits $344M Merrill Team in Nashville

The Nashville hire gives UBS an experienced Merrill team in a fast-growing Southern wealth market.

UBS has recruited financial advisors Colby Robbins and Brock Hooper from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Nashville, adding a team that managed approximately $344 million in client assets.

An Experienced Merrill Team

Robbins and Hooper spent more than a decade at Merrill, where they advised ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth families and individuals. UBS announced the move on June 18 as part of a broader group of Southeast hires.

The team joins UBS's South Market in Nashville. That market is led by Market Executive John Houlihan, outgoing Market Executive Greg Achten and Market Director Patrick Cook.

Why the Nashville Win Matters

The move gives UBS an established practice in one of the Southeast's fastest-growing wealth centers. It also represents a direct recruiting win from Merrill Lynch, one of UBS's largest national competitors for experienced advisor teams.

For UBS, the significance is not only the $344 million asset figure. The firm is adding advisors with long-standing local relationships and experience serving the affluent families its U.S. wealth business is built to attract.
