RBC Wealth Management Picks Former Raymond James and UBS Manager Shawn Bernhard to Run Texas South

RBC Wealth Management named Shawn Bernhard, a former Raymond James and longtime UBS manager, complex director for Texas South, based in Houston.

RBC Wealth Management has put a manager with deep UBS roots in charge of its Texas South complex. Shawn Bernhard is now complex director for the region, a role that covers RBC's advisors in Texas and Louisiana, according to InvestmentNews, which reported the appointment on Oct. 23. Her FINRA BrokerCheck record shows her registration with RBC Capital Markets, LLC, the broker-dealer behind RBC Wealth Management in the U.S., began Oct. 20, 2026, out of the firm's office at 2 Post Oak Central on Post Oak Boulevard in Houston.

Bernhard comes to RBC from Raymond James & Associates, where BrokerCheck shows she was registered from May 2025 to September 2026. InvestmentNews reported that she was managing director and manager of the Raymond James branch in Tucson, Arizona. Her stint there was short. The longer chapter came before it: BrokerCheck lists her at UBS Financial Services from December 2008 until June 2025, about 16 and a half years. InvestmentNews said she held several leadership roles at UBS and oversaw major Arizona markets.

Her regulatory history goes back further than UBS. BrokerCheck shows she entered the industry in April 2004 at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, then moved to Wachovia Securities in June 2005 and stayed into December 2008, the period when Wachovia was being absorbed by Wells Fargo. She has passed the Series 7 and SIE exams, the Series 66 uniform combined state law exam, and both the general module and options module of the sales supervisor exam, and her record carries no disclosures. InvestmentNews also reported that she holds the CFP and Certified Exit Planning Advisor credentials and once chaired Women's Wealth Advisors of Arizona.

In remarks carried by InvestmentNews, Bernhard credited RBC's collaborative, advisor focused culture as the reason she joined. Scott Skinner, RBC's Mountain South divisional director, told the outlet she knows that advisors who get the right resources and support do better, and so do their clients.

InvestmentNews noted that RBC has pulled several large teams from UBS over the past year; this week, WealthManagement.com reported that RBC landed a UBS team in Pittsburgh overseeing more than $1 billion. Bernhard's long UBS background may prove useful as RBC recruits in Texas and Louisiana.
